Physician Assistant Studies Early Assurance Pathway (EA-MSPAS)
Program Overview
Shenandoah University's Physician Assistant Studies Early Assurance Pathway (EA-MSPAS) offers a 4+2.5 program for high-achieving high school graduates. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA and meet specific course requirements to qualify for early admission to the graduate Physician Assistant Studies program. The program includes 50 hours of physician assistant observation and two letters of recommendation. Upon completion, students earn a Bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

- During the second semester of the first year, students must achieve and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- Students must follow specific guidelines outlined in the 4+2.5 Early Assurance Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies contract.
Assessment Criteria:
- High School GPA: minimum 3.5
- High School Courses: minimum grade of B- in both biology and chemistry
Other considerations:
- Students may provide a brief explanation of any COVID-19-related barriers that prevented them from meeting the admission criteria.
- Applicants must complete a minimum of 50 hours of observation of a licensed physician assistant in practice prior to the on-campus interview.
Other:
- The program offers a total of 5 seats each year.
- Suggested undergraduate degree paths include Biology, Chemistry, Exercise Science, and Public Health.
- The Pre-Health Certificate is recommended.

Apply as a first-year student to Shenandoah University. Meet the minimum requirements listed above. If qualified, you will be notified via email on how to register for the required interview and submit supplemental documentation. Submit your application materials, including supplemental documentation, before completing the interview.
- Students who do not qualify for the EA-MSPAS program can pursue the Articulation Agreement Pathway or the Traditional Pathway to the graduate health professions.
