Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Shenandoah University is designed to meet the needs of busy, career-driven individuals and ambitious entrepreneurs. The 12-month, hybrid/online program combines cutting-edge business education, in-demand certificate options, flexible learning options, and a supportive community to propel students toward their career goals.
Program Overview
The MBA program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is delivered primarily online via Zoom. The program is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing students to participate regardless of their geographical location. Students may enter the program in the fall, spring, or summer semesters, and no GMAT is required.

The program offers a wide range of specializations, allowing students to tailor their MBA experience to align with their specific career goals. These concentrations include:

Program Structure
The program consists of 24 credits of core courses and 12 credits of elective courses. The core courses include:
- MBA 601: Making Decisions With Data (6 credits)
- MBA 602: Leading People & Organizations (6 credits)
- MBA 603: Creating Value for Business and Society (6 credits)
- MBA 604: Exploring International Opportunities (6 credits)
- MBA 605: MBA Career Development (0 credits)
Elective Courses
Elective courses include graduate-level business courses or courses offered in a joint professional or graduate degree program. Students may request to take other graduate courses offered within the university, but permission from the director of the MBA program is required.
Foundational Courses
Applicants who have not taken the required foundational courses may be required to take them in their first semester(s) of the MBA program. These courses include:
- ACCT 501: Foundations of Accounting (3 credits)
- FIN 502: Foundations of Finance (1.5 credits)
- ECN 501: Foundations of Economics (3 credits)
- MTK 502: Foundations of Marketing (1.5 credits)
- QM 502: Business Statistics (1.5 credits)
- QM 504: Business Analytics (1.5 credits)
Experiential Learning Opportunities
MBA students can voluntarily take advantage of experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom, including case studies and working with companies and organizations on real-world projects.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. The following are also required:
- Transcript(s) from all post-secondary schools
- Course-by-course academic evaluation of any non-US transcripts
- A letter of intent statement
- Resume
- Official English language proficiency test scores (if necessary)
Tuition and Financial Aid
The current graduate tuition and fees can be found on the university's website. Financial aid is available to MBA students, and they can contact the Office of Financial Aid for detailed information.
Graduate Assistantships
The School of Business offers both full and half-graduate assistantships, which are available for the fall and spring semesters.
Application Process
The MBA Admissions Committee gives full consideration to the entire application packet, but admission to the program is competitive. When the complete application is received, the MBA Program Director evaluates it and determines eligibility. In some cases, a virtual interview with the MBA Admissions Committee is requested.
