Program Overview


Water and Environmental Management MSc (PGDip)

The Water and Environmental Management MSc (PGDip) is an opportunity to develop and enhance core skills, explore key analytical and scientific skills, and gain up-to-date knowledge of national and international environmental legislation.


Intro

Responsible management of water and environmental resources is essential in tackling the climate emergency. This accredited MSc course covers the fundamentals of hydrology and pollutant transport in the context of international legal and policy frameworks and integrated catchment management.


Entry Criteria

  • Degree and experience: A 2:2 honours degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.

Course Content

The course consists of taught and research components. To be awarded the MSc, students must obtain 180 credits, which includes six taught modules at 20 credits each and a 60-credit dissertation. Core modules cover:

The course is accredited by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). Graduates are prepared for roles with water companies, government agencies, and regulatory bodies, as well as environmental/civil engineering consultancies and international non-governmental organizations.
