This self-directed module allows students to create a customized learning framework for advanced practice roles in specialized areas. Degree Overview:

This module provides a means to create a bespoke learning framework to support the development of specific professional or clinical skills required for an advanced practice role. It is particularly valuable for those who need to be able to operate in an area of specialised practice where existing educational programmes are not available. This flexible module is relevant to the role of the health professional who wishes to underpin their advanced practice with existing theory and standards.


Teaching:

This module is primarily self-directed by the student in terms of subject area and this will govern the main areas of study. You will receive an initial briefing that will include an introduction to the concept of contract learning and guidance on the module procedures. You will then submit a referenced proposal that outlines your intended objectives and the means by which you expect to achieve these within the workplace. Delivery is online with resources available on CampusMoodle.

The development of these skills and knowledge can contribute to your professional development and the effectiveness of your service perhaps leading to advanced practitioner status within your specialism.


Other:

The Inclusion Centre advises and supports students who disclose a sensory or mobility impairment, chronic medical condition, mental health issue, dyslexia and other specific learning differences. Applicants are encouraged to arrange a pre-entry visit to discuss any concerns and to view the facilities. The Study Support Team provides training and support to all students in: Academic writing Study skills (note taking, exam techniques, time management, presentation) Maths and statistics English language Information technology support Moodle is RGU’s virtual learning environment (VLE). It is an essential resource that you can access from any internet enabled device, such as a laptop or mobile device, both on and off campus. RGU has recently invested more than £100 million in the development of its campus, an ongoing project, and in new facilities and resources. We have heavily invested in our support networks both on and off campus to make the experience of studying at RGU the best it can possibly be.
