Introduction to the Peace and Justice Studies Program

The Peace and Justice Studies program at Pace University is a transformative major that equips students with the knowledge and skills to address complex global challenges and promote equity, sustainability, and peace. This interdisciplinary program combines the social sciences and humanities, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of nonviolence, conflict resolution, and human rights.

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies is a 120-credit program that can be completed in four years. The program is offered at the New York City campus and is eligible for F1 visa students. The program is not STEM designated.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of peace and justice studies, including nonviolent social change, reconciliation, and humanitarian aid. The program includes coursework in topics such as:

• International Law and Human Rights
• Reconciliation and Transitional Justice

Students also have the opportunity to engage in meaningful projects and initiatives that challenge injustice and empower communities. The program culminates in a senior capstone project that highlights the student's expertise.

Admission and Financial Aid

The admission process for the Peace and Justice Studies program includes:

• Early Decision: November 1
• Early Action I: November 15
• Early Action II: December 1
• Regular Decision: February 15

The tuition for the 2025-2026 academic year is $52,924. However, many students pay significantly less due to merit scholarships, which offer up to $33,000 annually, as well as need-based scholarships, grants, on-campus employment opportunities, and loans.
