Short course Humanitarian Action (Level 6)
Course Overview
This module will develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours preparing you to deliver humanitarian action either in your local community or overseas. It will broaden and deepen your perception of your role in aid and advocacy settings giving you the skills to prepare, manage programmes and projects and build resilience into your systems. We hope to assist you with shaping your ability to contribute more effectively to policy and doctrine developments that will ultimately improve yours and your team's practice through transformative learning.

This module will develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours preparing you to deliver humanitarian action either in your local community or overseas.

- Modules: This module can be studied on a stand-alone basis, as a core module within the UADip Disaster, Crisis and Humanitarian Response award or as part of the BSc (Hons) Paramedic: Practice Development programme.

This module is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to deliver humanitarian action, both locally and internationally.

The module delves into various aspects of humanitarian action, focusing on:
- Understanding the principles and practices of humanitarian action.
- Developing leadership and management skills for humanitarian work.
- Building resilience in individuals and organizations to prepare for and respond to humanitarian crises.
- Contributing to policy and doctrine development for effective humanitarian response.
Structure:
The module is offered as a 20-credit module and can be studied at Levels 4, 5, 6, and 7, depending on the student's academic requirements. It can be taken as a standalone module or as part of a practice development University Advanced Diploma or Post-Graduate Certificate in Disaster Crisis and Humanitarian Response.
