BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
Overview
Occupational therapists promote health and wellbeing. They work closely with individuals and groups, empowering them to address barriers that prevent them from engaging in everyday activities, identifying solutions and enabling them to lead the lives they want to lead.
This degree, accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, will equip you to become an occupational therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Course Structure
What you will learn
You will learn the fundamental rights and beliefs of people to take part in the occupations that they need and value and to enable such engagement through the practice of occupational therapy. You will have a focus on leadership and entrepreneurial skills including the effective management of resources and promoting the profession to potential commissioners and users of services.

Teaching & Assessment
How you will learn
Occupational Therapists of the 21st Century need to have a strong professional identity, as well as enhanced professional, interpersonal, leadership, and business skills. Our programme will support you in developing these skills so that they are in place for when you start your first post.
How you will be assessed
Assessments have been designed to provide a creative and balanced strategy across the programme. The aim is to assess not only academic level but to include authentic assessments that demonstrate the professional skills required for practice.
Entry Requirements
- 112-120 UCAS Tariff Points
- GCSE English Language grade 4/C or above
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Adult Literacy are also accepted
Tuition Fees
- £9,535 - UK
- £16,900 - International
Funding
You may also be eligible for additional funding through the NHS Learning Support Fund.
Additional Costs
- Books and Journals: £100-£200 per year
- Stationery: £30-£40 per year
- Clothing and Equipment: £50-£100 per year
- Field Trips: £250-£750 per year
- Other: Practice Placements will incur costs and you need to plan for this in your annual budget
