Program Overview
The Minor in Innovation and Creativity (MIC) at Gannon University fosters skills and mindsets for solving complex societal problems. Through experiential learning and collaboration, students develop empathy, courage, and the ability to create and share innovative solutions. The MIC prepares graduates for careers in diverse fields, empowering them to lead, inspire, and make a positive impact.

- Content: The Minor in Innovation and Creativity (MIC) focuses on developing skills, attitudes, and mindsets that enable individuals to inspire solutions to complex societal problems. It covers topics such as empathy, collaboration, openness, play and practice, courage, embracing failure, risk taking, creating and sharing ideas, and more.
- Structure: The MIC is a 15-credit minor that can be earned in addition to any major. It consists of six courses:
- MIC 201: The Launch (1 credit)
- MIC 205: The Pitch (Speech) (3 credits)
- MIC 301: The Lore (Literature Series) (3 credits)
- MIC 305: The Labyrinth (Phil II Series) (3 credits)
- MIC 310: The Prototype (Fine Arts Series) (3 credits)
- MIC 401: The Blastoff (2 credits)
- Course Schedule: The MIC courses are typically offered in the following sequence:
- Fall, Freshman or Sophomore Year: MIC 201 and MIC 205
- Fall, Sophomore or Junior Year: MIC 301 and MIC 305
