Program Overview
This 6-week course led by movement artist Alia Swersky delves into embodied practices for creative expression. Through scores and structures, participants explore unique movement expressions, guided by drawing, writing, and more. The course culminates in a low-pressure work-in-progress showing, fostering a supportive environment for artistic growth.

This series offers an opportunity to dive deep into embodied practices as a way to discover and share creative offerings through the expression of the body. There is nothing needed other than to come as you are and trust the well of resources within you. Class will guide participants through different "scores and structures", qualities and states as a way to access your unique movement expressions. We will use drawing, writing, text, and anything else you bring into the space as part of the process. The course will end with low-pressure work in progress showing.

The course is taught by Alia Swersky, a movement artist, performer and educator deeply engaged in dance improvisation, durational time-based art, film, site-specific work, and environmental installation. She has degrees from Cornish College of the Arts and an MFA in dance from the University of Washington. The course is 6 weeks long and meets Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm. The cost of the course is $276.00.
