Program Overview


This hands-on graphic design course is designed for teens with minimal design knowledge. Through Adobe Illustrator, students explore vector drawing, color theory, typography, and shape to gain foundational graphic design skills. Led by instructor Robynne Raye, the course runs from July 9th to July 30th and can complement the Art & Design Foundations program.

Outline:

  • Content: This is a hands-on course for teens with a limited background in graphic design.
  • Teens will be introduced to graphic design through introductory projects using Adobe Illustrator. They will learn to draw with vector lines and be introduced to color theory, typography, hierarchy, and shape. Through research and by developing analytical skills, teens will learn how to draw and use type in Adobe Illustrator and gain knowledge of graphic design principles.
  • Structure: The course is an intensive that can be taken independently, but it is designed to work in conjunction with the Art & Design Foundations program.
  • Course Schedule: The course runs from July 9th to July 30th, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 PM to 4 PM.
