Undergraduate Certificate: Aging Studies for Health Professionals
Overview
An undergraduate certificate in Aging Studies for Health Professionals (UGC-AGE) enables full-time students and working professionals to deepen their understanding of the fundamental concepts of aging, enhancing their ability to serve an aging population. The UGC-AGE introduces students to the field of aging and provides comprehensive preparation in the psychological, biological, and sociological aspects of aging. For their final credit hours, students can specialize in either "diversity and aging" or "community resources and aging networks."
Curriculum
The certificate program can be completed entirely online within one academic year. Students can start the program in the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters. This certificate can be pursued concurrently with degree programs such as anthropology, biology, business management, general business, pre-med, social work, and clinical disciplines within the College of Health Professions.
- Credits earned as part of this certificate can also be applied to the Bachelor of Science (BS) in health management - general aging studies concentration.
