Overview

Wichita State’s undergraduate certificate in audio production combines creativity with hands-on learning in a technology-rich environment. Students gain essential knowledge and techniques—from editing and mastering to live sound design—and build qualifications for career success in a variety of music-related settings.

Curriculum

To complete the 15-credit-hour undergraduate certificate, students take the following courses:

• Intro to Music Tech and Industry
• Intro to Music Business
• Intro to Multimedia
• Advanced Editing and Mastering
• Live Sound Design
• Intro to Electronic Music

Program Details

Audio production students gain experience on projects ranging from film and video games to individual and group recording. The program provides a supportive community that keeps students motivated and engaged.

Enrollment

To add this certificate to a plan of study, students follow these steps:

• Log into the myWSU portal, find the Student Tools box (center of the page) and click "Change my Major/Minor."
• Click continue (this will show the current major and minor).
• Click continue, then click on "Add a certificate" and choose the certificate program. Click continue and submit request.
