Graduate Certificate in Child / Play Therapy

Overview

Wichita State's postmaster's certificate in child / play therapy is designed to meet the training standards for play therapists established by the Association for Play Therapy.

Curriculum

This 15-credit-hour certificate program comprises the following courses:

• Fundamentals of Play Therapy
• Play Therapy for Young Children
• Child Psychopathology in Play Therapy
• Advanced Techniques in Child and Play Therapy
• Practicum Play Therapy
• The practicum requires students to conduct 100 hours of play therapy while receiving weekly supervision from an experienced play therapist.

Admission to the Program

There are two paths to admission to the program:

• For those already enrolled in graduate school, simply complete the Declaration of Intent to Pursue a Certificate Form.
• Prospective students should apply using the Graduate School application for admission.
