Undergraduate Certificate in Graphic Narrative Coding and Accessibility

Overview

Wichita State’s undergraduate certificate in Graphic Narrative Coding and Accessibility combines hands-on learning and analytical problem solving in three rapidly growing fields: comics, computer science, and disability studies. Students gain practical experience and a portfolio by translating comics for accessibility, the digital humanities, and other uses.


Curriculum

This certificate is multidisciplinary, open to students in every major, and comprised of 12 credit hours—including two required courses:


  • ID 405: Seminar in Applied Innovation
  • ENGL 377: Graphic Novels

The remaining electives are chosen based on the student's interests and career goals.


Enrollment

To add this certificate to a plan of study, students must:

  • Find the Student Tools box (center of the page) and click "Change my Major/Minor"
  • Click continue (this will show the current major and minor)
  • Click continue, then click on "Add a certificate" and choose the certificate program
  • Click continue and submit the request
