Major: Political Science

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in political science from Wichita State will equip you with useful knowledge in the study of government, public policies, and political behavior. The degree is ideal for double majoring in many areas such as pre-law, business, journalism, philosophy, and criminal justice—and is excellent preparation for graduate study and a wide range of careers.

Admission to the Program

To be admitted into the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you must first be admitted to Wichita State.

Curriculum

To complete the 33-credit-hour political science major, you'll take 18 credit hours of required courses—from American Politics to Political Data Analysis. You'll also take 15 additional credit hours of political science electives based on your interests and career goals.

A departmental honors track is also available for this major.
