Undergraduate Certificate: Sport Leadership and Branding

Overview

Wichita State's certificate in sport leadership and branding equips students with the skills to develop and manage personal branding and marketing plans within the sport and entertainment industries. This certificate is designed to support the educational needs of varsity student-athletes in the Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) marketplace, but is available to all students.

Curriculum

The 15-credit-hour certificate consists of three required courses:

• Principles of Leadership
• Seminar in Personal Branding
• Sport and Entertainment Agencies

Students then choose two electives from the following:

• Technology in Sport Management
• Applied Leadership Experience in Sport and Entertainment
• Sport Marketing and Promotion

Enrollment

To add this certificate to your plan of study, follow these steps:

• Log into the myWSU portal, find the Student Tools box (center of the page) and click on "Change my Major/Minor."
• Click continue (this will show your current major and minor).
• Click continue, then click "Add a certificate" and choose your certificate program. Click continue and submit request.
