Program Overview

The LSU Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering requires 24 hours of dissertation research and 30 hours of graduate-level coursework, including 18 hours in ChE courses at the 7000 level or above. Core courses cover mathematical methods, thermodynamics, heat and mass transport, and chemical reactor design. Students must pass a General Examination and a final dissertation defense to complete the program.
