Program Overview

The LSU Law Center and School of Social Work offer a dual degree program that allows students to earn both a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) in approximately four years. The program accelerates completion by recognizing credits earned in one program as electives in the other. Students must meet admission requirements for both programs and complete the first year of each program during the first two years of study. A graduate thesis is required in the School of Social Work, which can also fulfill the Law Center's upperclass writing requirement with approval.
