This program enhances formal communication skills in the Tonga language. Participants learn to use respectful language in various settings, from family gatherings to community events and the workplace. They also gain an understanding of Tongan culture and develop essential skills for supporting native speakers in the community and workforce.

Degree Overview:
Learn how to take everyday conversations and formalize them to engage more appropriately with your Kau Taki 'o e ngaahi Komiuniti'. By the end of the program, you will be able to engage comfortably in more formal contexts within the family and church setting, community functions, and workplace. You will learn skills on how to MC events and acknowledge distinguished guests.

You will need to complete four courses (60 credits):
- 830.418 My surroundings (Tonga) (15 credits)
- 830.419 My family (Tonga) (15 credits)
- Learn to apply formal language in Lea Faka-Tonga in family contexts.
- 830.420 My community (Tonga) (15 credits)
- 830.421 Culture (Tonga) (15 credits)
