Mindfulness Based Wellbeing Online/Blended - PG Cert
The Post Graduate Certificate in Mindfulness Based Wellbeing is a one-year part-time program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to teach mindfulness in schools or workplace settings.
Course Outline
This program explores the foundations of mindfulness, examining the eastern philosophy of mindfulness and its engagement with western psychology. It develops an appreciation for the central themes incorporated in Mindfulness Based interventions and challenges students to reflect on and contextualize the role of mindfulness practice in everyday settings.
- Students will complete 30 credits as follows:
- AP6811 Foundations of Mindfulness (10 Credits)
- AP6813 Teaching Mindfulness in Schools (20 credits) or AP6814 Teaching Mindfulness in the Workplace (20 credits)
Course Practicalities
Lectures are delivered over weekends, evening classes, and day workshops, with continuous assessment in the form of assignments and mindfulness logs. Garda vetting will be completed, and weekend lectures will be classroom-based, while other evening and day workshops will be delivered online.

Requirements
Applicants should:

- Have completed a teacher-led 8-week mindfulness course (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy or Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
- Have a regular meditation practice of mindfulness meditation. An interview forms an important element in assessing a candidate's suitability for the program.
