Certificate in Continuing Professional Development in Neurodiversity for the Screen Industry

The Certificate in Continuing Professional Development in Neurodiversity for the Screen Industry is a 12-week online course designed for screen industry professionals. The program provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the concept of neurodiversity in the context of the screen industry, aiming to equip students with a holistic and people-centered understanding of this multifaceted concept and movement.


Course Outline

This course comprises two 5-credit modules delivered over a 12-week period. It is designed for screen industry professionals and is delivered on one night a week (plus two one-day Saturday workshops). The module comprises 250 hours of student workload, whereby students will be provided with self-study program material online, including a number of virtual activities, and will be required to attend lectures and tutorials.


Course Practicalities

The course is fully online with live classes, and students need to be proficient with technology. The applications used by the university are Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and the Canvas Virtual Learning Environment.

Requirements

  • Be a screen industry professional
  • Hold a QQI level 6 or equivalent qualification
  • Meet the English Language Requirement: All applicants whose first language is not English must have attained IELTS Level 6 or the equivalent TOEFL score or the equivalent Duolingo score.

Fees and Costs

The fee for the course is 600. Screen Ireland is offering fee subsidies for applicants in the screen industry.
