It focuses on legal, procedural, and managerial competencies, with modules covering law, professional practice, and project management. Assessment includes coursework, professional development records, and a viva voce. The program is designed for candidates working in practice and provides a creative community with guest lectures and industry events.

Program Outline

Outline:

The curriculum is designed to support and inform work-based professional experience, providing modules in law, professional practice and relevant management issues. • Assessment is through a series of scenario-based assignments and a critical review of learning gained.
  • Professional Services and Business Management: Develops critical awareness of the processes involved in delivering architectural designs.
  • Assessment is through a series of scenario-based assignments. Students look at how time, cost and quality are balanced and how risk is appropriately apportioned. Assessment is through a series of scenario-based assignments.
  • Critical Practice: Brings together work-based learning and professional experience with academic skills and acquisition of knowledge developed in earlier modules.
  • Candidates are required to demonstrate their knowledge, skill and ability to critically appraise professional practice as well as an ability to determine and manage their professional development.

Assessment comprises coursework (e.g. essays, reports), volumes of professional development and case studies, as well as the final viva. Part 3 assessors are drawn from representatives of various architectural firms, universities, and organizations.
