  • Critical Reflections on the role of the SEN coordinator (30 credits)
  • Leading change and the role of the SEN coordinator (30 credits)
  • The program is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining online learning with four study days at the Kingston Hill campus.

Course Schedule:

  • The course runs for one year, beginning in June 2024.
  • A networking conference event is also included.
  • Examines databases and specialist sources to develop evidence-based approaches to learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • Emphasizes critical reflections and ethical practice.
  • Explores how to improve learning outcomes for learners with SEND.
  • Utilizes reflective journal writing as a tool for self-assessment.
  • Addresses the leadership of SEN provision, including self-reflection and ways of promoting professional learning.
  • Formative assessments include tutor-facilitated online discussions, reflective journal maintenance, collaborative exploration of specialist sources in workshops, and work in progress papers with tutor and peer feedback.
