Course Details

The Introduction to the Operating Theatre course is an 8-week short course offered by Wrexham University. The course provides insight into the unique environment of Theatre Departments, including the perioperative journey that patients embark on for their operation, the standards and values that underpin care, and the roles of different professions within the highly skilled team of care-providers.

Teaching & Assessment

The assessment consists of a written assignment exploring the roles and responsibilities of Operating Department Practitioners in relation to patient care.

Fees & Funding

The course is FREE. However, please note that short course prices are subject to review, and it is recommended to contact the university for any queries regarding the pricing for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Course Dates

The course starts on Tuesday, 24th March 2026. The online sessions will take place every Tuesday between 15:00 - 17:00, with one session (date to be decided) to take place face-to-face at the Wrexham campus.
