This work-based learning program enables professionals to earn academic credit for learning acquired through their professional experience. Participants develop a learning agreement and receive support from a tutor and work-based facilitator. The program is assessed 100% through coursework and can enhance career progression within the health and life sciences field.

Degree Overview:
These work-based learning modules enable you to gain recognition and academic credit for learning gained through professional practice or employment. You'll develop a work-based learning agreement which specifies the learning outcomes to be achieved, the learning activities, resources required, and the evidence of achievement which will be assessed. The agreement is negotiated between you, your manager or workplace, and a tutor from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. Learning support is provided by a tutor and work-based facilitator. You will be assessed 100% through coursework. Modules will take approximately 10 hours of study per credit.

Students who have completed similar vocational health and life sciences postgraduate certificate courses have been employed within their speciality both locally and nationally. This course enables you as a practitioner to work through the Agenda for Change grading bands to further your career progression.

This course is a credit-bearing module in Work-Based Learning at Oxford Brookes University. This course is offered at level 6 and 7. The course code for this module is HESC7017, HESC7018, HESC6013, HESC6014. This course is available as a standalone module or as part of an award-bearing course. The course is offered in January, June and September. The application deadline for the course is 1 August for September start, 1 December for January start, and 1 May for June start.
