Program Overview

The Minor in Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies (AMED) at San Francisco State University offers a multidisciplinary approach to understanding Arab and Muslim communities through the lens of justice-centered analysis. Students explore historical and socio-political contexts, examining structural inequalities such as gender, race, and ethnicity. The program integrates diverse perspectives, including Arab, Middle East, and Global Studies, race and ethnic studies, and critical cultural studies, fostering a comprehensive understanding of these communities and their national and transnational experiences.
