Degree Overview:

The Minor in Business Administration provides a broad, non-specialized exposure to business principles. It is designed for students who are not business majors but wish to acquire entry-level employment skills in various business fields. This minor program aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and the business world.

Careers:

The Minor in Business Administration prepares students for entry-level employment in various business roles. The program equips students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a diverse range of business environments.


Other:

  • Admission Requirements: To declare the minor, students must complete one of the following courses: DS 110, MATH 107 and MATH 108, MATH 110, or MATH 226; and ECON 101 and ECON 102.
  • Program Units: The minor requires 24 units of coursework, with at least 6 units being upper-division courses.
  • Minimum GPA: All coursework used to satisfy the minor requirements must be completed with a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
  • Transfer Credits: Students who earn a minor in business administration and later pursue an MBA or MSBA at SF State may use these minor courses to meet graduate-level foundation courses, provided they earn a B- or better in the class and have completed the undergraduate course within five years of entering the graduate business program.
  • CLEP Exam: The ISYS 263 course requirement can be met by passing the CLEP Exam.
  • Students who pass the waiver exam do not need to take ISYS 263 but must take an additional course (upon advisement) to make up the 3 units.
