Program Overview

The Minor in Latin American Studies at SF State offers a multidisciplinary exploration of Latin American history, literature, economics, and political developments. Taught by diverse faculty, the program emphasizes the region's hybrid nature, cultural influences, and global connections. It prepares students for careers in humanities, international relations, and other fields, as well as further academic study. The minor requires intermediate-level competency in a relevant language, and encourages participation in study abroad programs.
