Dean of the School of Dentistry
Dr. Randa El Salawy (BDS, MSD, Ph.D.) is a distinguished leader in dental education. Her academic journey encompasses notable degrees from Cairo University and extensive experience in restorative dentistry and biomaterials. She has delivered over 1000 lectures and supervised numerous master's and Ph.D. candidates.

Accreditation & Academic Collaboration

Accreditation
Newgiza University was established by Presidential Decree No. 93 in April 2010, gaining recognition from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Supreme Council of Universities. The School of Dentistry received official acknowledgment in August 2016 and achieved institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) in September 2024.

Program Summary

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five-year integrated program consisting of 3 modules each academic year, with each semester lasting 18 weeks. The program emphasizes early clinical exposure and integrates medical and dental sciences with patient-centered care.


Program Structure

The BDS program spans five academic years, comprising 10 semesters and 300 credit units focused on various disciplines:


  • Basic Sciences
    • Physics, Chemistry, Bioscience, Human Anatomy, etc.
  • Medical and Dental Sciences
    • Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, etc.
  • Behavioral Sciences
    • Law, Ethics, Professionalism, IT.

Successful completion of the program awards a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree, followed by a one-year internship that is essential for obtaining a practice license.
