Program Overview
The Medicine Program at Galala University is a five-year program that adopts the latest highly effective medical education strategies applied in international medical schools. The program is designed to prepare students for contemporary medical practice, with a focus on student-centered education, integrated interdisciplinary approaches, and active teaching methods.
Program Structure
The program is divided into two phases:
- The first stage (Pre-Clerkship): Includes the first three years, divided into six semesters, with a duration of 15 weeks of teaching per semester, plus a period of preparation and examinations.
- The second stage (Clinical Clerkship): Includes two years of clinical teaching in rotation between clinical departments, with each year consisting of 40 teaching weeks, plus a period of preparation and examination.
Degree Requirements
The total credit hours for the program is 209 Credit Hours, including:
- 20 Credit Hours of University Requirements (14 compulsory and 6 electives)
- 189 Credit Hours of Faculty Requirements (185 compulsory and 4 clinical electives)
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program will possess the following learning outcomes:
- Identify major health risks in the community, endemic diseases, and common chronic diseases
- Identify the epidemiology of common diseases within the community and apply methodological means to reduce their occurrence
- Describe the natural structure of the body and its main organs, and explain its functions
- Identify the different causes of disease and explain the ways they affect the body
- Use health information systems to improve the quality of patient care

- General practitioner and continued study as a postgraduate to specialize in medicine, surgery, or other specialties

Tuition Fees
- Annual tuition fees for Egyptian students: 150,000 EGP
- Annual administrative fees for Egyptian students: 11,500 EGP
- Admission administrative fees for Egyptian students (to be paid once on the admission semester): 11,500 EGP
- Annual tuition fees for non-Egyptian students: $7,500
