Program Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technology Program at Galala University is designed for individuals intrigued by science and healthcare, with an investigative mind and a desire for skills leading to a broad range of career options. The program qualifies graduates to work in medical and research laboratories, bridging the gap between laboratory physicians and technicians by providing basic and laboratory sciences and acquiring practical skills in various subspecialties of the medical laboratory.
What is a Medical Lab Technologist?
A medical lab technologist analyzes body fluids and tissues for proper diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. They may also ensure blood types match before transfusions or test urine samples for drugs.
What does a Medical Lab Technologist do?
- Draw blood samples from patients.
- Perform requested testing procedures using a range of testing techniques.
- Prepare a wide variety of sample types for analysis.
- Validate the testing results based on a quality assurance system.

To graduate from this program, students need to complete:
- University Requirement: 20 Credit Hours
- General Field Requirement: 27 Credit Hours
- Major Requirements: 83 Credit Hours Total: 130 Credit Hours

Tuition Fees
- Annual tuition fees for Egyptian students: 42,000 EGP
- Annual administrative fees for Egyptian students: 9,340 EGP (to be paid before the first semester)
- Admission administrative fees for Egyptian students: 5,500 EGP (to be paid once on the admission's semester)
- Annual tuition fees for non-Egyptian students: $4,500
