Program Overview

The Medical Laboratory Science program at Southwest Minnesota State University is a 4-year, 80-credit program that prepares students for careers in medical laboratories. The program includes coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, as well as a 12-month clinical internship at Sanford USD Medical Center. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national certification exam for medical laboratory scientists.
