Course List
The following courses are required for the Strength and Conditioning, Certificate program:
- EXSC 100: Anatomical Kinesiology (3 credits)
- EXSC 100L: Anatomical Kinesiology Lab (1 credit)
- EXSC 300: Biomechanics of Human Motion (3 credits)
- EXSC 350: Exercise Physiology (3 credits)
- EXSC 350L: Exercise Physiology Lab (1 credit)
- HLTH 110: First Aid and Safety/CPR (2 credits)
- PE 335: Theory of Coaching/Teaching Strength and Conditioning (2 credits)
- PE 392: Prevention & Care of Athletic Injuries (2 credits) Total Credits: 17
Certification Requirements
To become certified, students must complete the First Aid/CPR/AED certification by taking HLTH 110 or providing proof of prior certification. Additionally, students are required to complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online course (NFHS) to become certified as a head coach in Minnesota, following the MSHSL curriculum and MN state statute.
