The Saint Louis University Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing offers a post-master's certificate in nursing education. This program provides an opportunity for coursework and practicum experience in nursing education.
Overview
The post-master's certificate in nursing education is designed for students who want to pursue a career in nursing education. The program is offered online and includes four educator courses. Students who complete the program will meet the eligibility requirement to sit for the National League for Nursing's CNE Exam for Nurse Educators.

Fieldwork and Research Opportunities
A nursing practicum allows students to create a unique teaching practicum experience with faculty supervision and guidance. Seminar activities are aimed at helping students make a successful transition into teaching.

Admission Requirements
The admission requirements include:
- Licensure: A currently active, unencumbered, registered nurse designation in the country of residence.
- Education: A graduate degree in nursing with a major emphasis on nursing education or a graduate degree in nursing plus a post-master's certificate in nursing education.
- Experience: Currently within the first three years of practice as an academic nurse educator.

Continuation Standards
Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 in all graduate/professional courses.
