Analytics, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
The Analytics, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program at Saint Louis University's School for Professional Studies offers students the opportunity to study statistical and analytical techniques needed to understand data sets and the inner workings of any organization. Through coursework in project management, leadership, and organizational development, graduates will learn to understand data and communicate its meaning to others.
Overview
This nine-credit, fully online program is designed for technology-driven professionals who want to meet their personal career goals. Students who have obtained an undergraduate degree or higher may pursue a stand-alone certificate. All courses are offered in eight-week terms through SLU Online, making advanced education more accessible for working professionals.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Utilize argumentation skills appropriate for a given problem or context.
- Implement analytics systems that facilitate context-appropriate decision-making.
Requirements
The program requires the completion of 9 credits, including:
- AA 5000: Foundations of Analytics (3 credits)
- AA 5100: Information Retrieval (3 credits)
- AA 5200: Visualization, Feedback and Dissemination (3 credits)
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the program, students must:
- Submit a completed application
- Have an undergraduate degree (most successful applicants have an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or better)
- Provide an official transcript from a degree-granting institution
- Submit a statement of purpose (about 500 words)
- Provide a resume or curriculum vitae
- Submit external reference recommendations (encouraged but not required)
Tuition
The tuition per credit for online graduate degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates is $810. Additional charges may apply.

Careers
Students who complete the analytics certificate program are prepared to take on jobs related to the application of analytics and data science to address business needs. Examples of such roles include data translator, project manager, business analyst, analytics application developer, and data analyst.
Continuation Standards
Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 in all graduate/professional courses.

The roadmap for the program is as follows:
- Fall 1: AA 5000 - Foundations of Analytics (3 credits)
- Fall 2: AA 5200 - Visualization, Feedback and Dissemination (3 credits)
- Spring 1: AA 5100 - Information Retrieval (3 credits)
This roadmap assumes full-time enrollment and is subject to change. Transfer credit may change the roadmap. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor/mentor each semester.
