  • Students can choose between two pathways within the Master of Translation Studies: coursework only or coursework and dissertation, which allows for progression to a PhD.
  • Cognate studies related to business or translation at the undergraduate level can shorten the program duration to two-and-a-half years (coursework pathway) instead of three years.
  • The course structure comprises core units and electives, allowing students to tailor their degree based on their interests and career aspirations.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have - (1) a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and (a) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent in the Level 3 units of a relevant major; or (b) at least two years professional experience in a relevant occupation; or (c) completed a Graduate Certificate in Finance, or Graduate Certificate in Human Resources and Employment Relations, or Graduate Certificate in Business Information and Logistics Management, or Graduate Certificate in Commerce, or Graduate Certificate in Marketing, or Graduate Certificate in Economics at UWA. and (2)(a) demonstrated native or near-native proficiency in the chosen language specialisation; or Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
