Overview
The Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation program provides educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate technology into the classroom and prepare students for the digital world. The program is designed for certified teachers seeking to add a computer technology endorsement to their teaching license.
Admissions
- Master’s degree in education or another appropriate field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 2.750 GPA on a 4.000-point scale (last degree)
- Official transcript(s)
- Evidence of valid Resident Educator or Professional State of Ohio teaching license
- Goal statement
- Two letters of recommendation from academic and professional references

- ETEC 57400: Trends in Educational Technology (3 credits)
- ETEC 67402: Managing School Technology Centers and Programs (3 credits)
- ETEC 67425: Managing Technological Change (3 credits)
- ETEC 67426: Managing School Technologies (3 credits)

Completers of this program will be able to:
- Use technology to create equitable and ongoing access to high-quality learning.
- Participate in and model ongoing professional development and lifelong learning relative to educational technology and innovations in pedagogy.
- Model and support educators to design learning experiences and environments to improve their instructional practice and student learning outcomes.
- Plan, provide and evaluate the impact of professional learning for educators and leaders to use technology to advance teaching and learning.
- Model and support the use of data to inform instruction and professional learning.
- Model digital citizenship and support educators and students in recognizing the responsibilities and opportunities inherent in living in a digital world.
Accreditation
The Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation non-degree program has received national accreditation from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the professional organization that reviews licensure programs for the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
