Program Overview

The History of Medicine department offers two MA tracks: a 1-year track for students in medical or public health programs and a 2-year CAST-M track for doctoral students exploring STEM-adjacent humanities fields. The programs provide training in historical research methods, knowledge of medical and scientific history, and opportunities to engage with race, gender, and colonial issues in science and medicine. Graduates are equipped to pursue PhDs in science studies, medical humanities, or related fields.
