Program Overview

The University of West Alabama's Master's in Dyslexia Therapy program equips educators to become dyslexia therapists, focusing on multisensory instruction in basic language skills. Aligned with Alabama's Literacy Act, it prepares educators to enhance literacy in kindergarten through third-grade students, including a clinical practicum with 720 hours of required experience. Students learn to apply the Orton-Gillingham approach, leading to potential careers as dyslexia therapists, interventionists, or in school leadership roles.
