Protecting and Safeguarding Children and Young People (Level 7) draft
Program Overview
The Protecting and Safeguarding Children and Young People program is designed for healthcare professionals to critically evaluate the social, cultural, and environmental risk factors that contribute to a child or young person's vulnerability to child abuse or neglect. Through this program, health professionals will gain knowledge and skills through critical examination of evidence on effective identification and assessment of children and young people at risk. Other topics include: the role of the statutory and voluntary agencies involved in safeguarding and protecting children and young people, critical evaluation of the effectiveness of communication with the multi-disciplinary team when managing a case of possible child abuse or neglect, and more.
