Program Overview

This module is designed to facilitate the nurse to become a competent and knowledgeable practitioner in planning and implementing care for orthopaedic patients undergoing both elective and trauma orthopaedic care. It aims to introduce the practitioner to a range of orthopaedic disorders, their associated anatomy and physiology and care. The unit has been developed in conjunction with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Trust, Stanmore. This module seeks to provide focus and direction for practitioners who wish to develop their skills and expertise in relation to orthopaedic care nursing across the age spectrum.
