Public health research is shaping policy debates over disease prevention, health care reform, and climate change. Drew’s multi-disciplinary major in public health encompasses the biomedical sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities—preparing students for careers in epidemiological research, health policy making, and program implementation. Through research projects and a varied curriculum, students are provided a population-level approach to solving health problems with a strong focus on scientific, social and ethical principles—graduating with a mastery of health care policy issues and an in-depth understanding of the many public health programs administered by federal, state, and local government and international agencies.
