Program Overview
Participants will learn rating parameters, defect identification, data recording, and will undergo competency assessments for certification. The program is offered as a two-day course for new raters and a one-day refresher course for experienced raters.

- Who should attend: Any person wishing to undertake road condition rating surveys on sealed roads for NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) subsidised work.

- Two Day Course: New Raters (with less than 2 years experience) are required to:- attend the full two day Road Condition Rating course- attend the one day “refresher” workshop the following year. After two consecutive years training, raters are then considered experienced and only need to attend the one day “refresher” course every second year.
- One Day Course (2nd Day): Experienced Raters are those who have attended two consecutive years training. To remain current, they must attend the one day “refresher” course every second year. i.e. if you attended a 1 day course within the last 12 months, then you are not required to attend again until 2025.
- Changes for new learners: WITT and this programme are part of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.

Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements:
- **Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- **Master's degree is required to enter the Literacy Studies and Learning and Teaching programs.
- **Transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities.
- **Three letters of recommendation.
- **Personal statement of interests and career intentions.
- **Writing Sample may be required.
- **Current résumé or curriculum vitae.
- **Masters Degree required for Higher Education Track of ELPS EdD program, and pending certification of SDL/SBL strongly recommended for entry into K-12 track.
- **Interview with faculty members will be required.
