Program Overview

The University of Nottingham offers a 6-year full-time Veterinary Medicine and Surgery program, which includes a gateway year. The gateway year helps widen participation in veterinary medicine and provides students with a solid foundation in animal biology, chemistry, behavior, and care. After completing the gateway year, students automatically join the five-year veterinary medicine and surgery course. The program is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and prepares students to practice as a vet in the UK and other countries upon graduation.
