Program Overview


Overview

Learn how to research strategies to repair, replace and ultimately regenerate various tissues and organs to solve major clinical problems. Gain a comprehensive insight into topical issues such as stem cells, design and characterisation of biomaterials and nanomaterials (including graphene), biofabrication (including 3D bioprinting), cell and gene therapies, commercialisation and clinical translation of regenerative therapies. Prepare for PhD study, specialist clinical training or a career in related industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology and regenerative medicine sectors. Study at a university ranked 8th in the UK and among the top 30 in the world for Medicine (QS Rankings 2023).


Entry Requirements

  • We require an honours degree (minimum Upper Second) or overseas equivalent in:
    • biological sciences
    • medical sciences
    • biomedical materials
    • dentistry
    • veterinary medicine
    • pharmacology
  • This course is also available for intercalating medical students, both from The University of Manchester and other UK universities. For intercalating MBChB students, we require satisfactory achievement in Years 1 to 4. You can fail, but you must pass the resit and progress through the course. There should be no failure in the year before intercalation.
