Program Overview


Clinical Data Science

Overview

The PgCert Clinical Data Science is a part-time, modular program designed to empower healthcare professionals to apply data science in practice and translate data into patient benefit. The program offers a rich mixture of online and face-to-face learning opportunities, allowing students to build their digital, data capabilities and confidence.


Entry Requirements

  • An honours degree (minimum 2:1) or overseas equivalent
  • Relevant work experience may be considered on an individual basis
  • Non-standard applications will be considered at the discretion of the Programme Director

Application and Selection

  • Application deadlines:
    • 31st August 2025 for Clinical Data Engineering (September 2025 start) and Maths, Stats, and Machine Learning (November 2025 start)
    • 19 January 2025 for Data Visualisation and Communication (March 2025 start) and Human Factors and Digital Transformation (June 2025 start)
  • Places are limited, so early application is recommended
  • When applying, select PG Cert Clinical Data Science on the application form and choose the start month for each unit

Careers

The program aims to develop fundamental data science skills for processing, analysing, and communicating using data, enabling healthcare professionals to work better with data-centric professionals on digital transformation and research projects.


Fees

  • For entry in the academic year beginning September 2025:
    • UK students (per annum): £1,350 per 15 credits
    • International, including EU, students (per annum): £3,500 per 15 credits

  • You should be able to complete your course without incurring additional study costs over the tuition fee.
  • Any unavoidable additional compulsory costs totalling over 1% of the annual home UG fee per annum will be made clear at the point of application.
