Nursing (Adult) MSc
Overview
The MSc Nursing (Adult) program at Edge Hill University is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to succeed as a qualified adult nurse. The program is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and focuses on the six core values of the NHS.

How You'll Study
The program places emphasis on independent learning, supported by classroom-based sessions and the use of technology-enhanced learning. Students will develop clinical skills confidence through a combination of simulated education and extensive time in practice undertaken in hospital and community settings.
How You'll Be Assessed
Students will be assessed by a written assessment, oral assessment, a simulated practical assessment, and an online time-limited assessment. While on practice placement, students will be supported in the development of the application of knowledge and skills, leading to the assessment of related proficiencies.
Who Will Be Teaching You
Students will be taught by professionals in adult nursing, other fields of nursing, and other specialist areas within health and social care. The program team represents a range of qualified, research-active professionals with extensive experience of working in the health and social care sector.
Entry Criteria
- A degree equivalent to UK first-class or second-class honours (2:2 or above)
- Health-related subjects are preferred but not essential
- GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- An interview forms part of the selection process
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is required for students with relevant experience
How to Apply
Apply for January 2026 Full-Time. Students should apply for undergraduate funding, rather than postgraduate funding, when applying to Student Finance.

Finance
- 2025/26 Tuition Fees: £9,535 per year (UK Full-Time)
- Students on this course may be entitled to the NHS Learner Support Fund if eligible
- Subject to eligibility, UK students joining this course can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from the Government to cover the full cost of tuition fees
