Degree Overview:
The Applied Sport and Exercise Medicine MSc program is designed for students with a non-clinical background. It allows students to specialize in the theory of managing sports injuries and illnesses, explore the relationship between exercise and health, and gain real-life experience in the field.

- Provide students with real-life experience in the field of sports medicine
Program Description:
The program includes special training courses in CPR, first aid, taping, and sports massage. Students will have the opportunity to provide real pitch-side emergency care at UoN sport events and receive teaching from leading clinicians, research scientists, and sports and exercise medicine experts.

Course Structure:
The program takes place over three semesters: autumn, spring, and summer. Taught modules are usually delivered in the autumn and spring semesters with the summer used for the research project (preparation for this will take place during the autumn and spring semesters). However, this will depend on the mode of study.
Course Schedule:
Students will take all of the compulsory modules and choose from two of the optional modules for a total of 180 credits.

Students will be assessed through a variety of methods, including:

- Viva voce
Teaching:
Teaching is face-to-face, supported by online materials and independent study. Practical teaching will take place in the clinical skills suites and in the dissection room (module dependent). Along with more traditional classroom-based lectures and/or tutorials.
Faculty:
Students will be taught by leading clinicians, research scientists, and sports and exercise medicine experts.
