Introduction to the Secondary Computer Science PGCE

The Secondary Computer Science PGCE is a 10-month full-time or 20-month part-time course that prepares students to start their career as new teachers. The course is designed to provide students with the skills and expertise needed to successfully teach computer science in secondary schools.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

  • Degree requirements: Normally a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above
  • Subject-specific requirements:
    • A strong knowledge and understanding of a range of programs for programming, coding, and games creation
    • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science; for computing-related degrees, candidates need to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge to degree standard
    • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C (or equivalent)
