The B.B.A. degree provides students with a well-rounded education desirable to employers, enabling them to bring unique perspectives to the table that will potentially accelerate their climb up the corporate ladder.


Business Integrated Studies gives students the ability to create a degree program that best suits their individual career interests. This is accomplished by integrating two different business areas offered by the G. Brint Ryan College of Business rather than just choosing one major area.


The two areas are chosen in consultation with an academic advisor, who will provide assistance the entire time the student is in the program. Examples of potential combinations include:

Business Integrated Studies Degree Courses

Professional Speaking, Writing, and Presentation in a Global Environment (3 hrs)

Mastery of the writing process, public speaking, and professional presentations. Designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective oral and written communication in domestic as well as international professional settings. Students learn to write professional documents, develop public presence skills, and gain experience developing and delivering structured presentations.


Business Statistics with Spreadsheets (3 hrs)

Statistical inference for means and proportions, analysis of variance, correlation, simple and multiple regression. Extensive use of cases and spreadsheets.


Finance (3 hrs)

Overview of money and the banking system; interest and present value calculations; financial information; analysis and financial decision making; security markets.


Organizational Behavior (3 hrs)

Individual behavior in formal organizations. Cases, lectures, and experiential exercises in organizational culture, motivation, leadership, dynamics of power, perception and attribution, communication, decision making, and performance, and individual differences.


Foundations of Marketing Practice (3 hrs)

Survey of marketing concepts and practices and overview of the range of activities performed by marketing managers. Topics include the identification of market opportunities, strategic marketing planning, product/service development and management, price setting and management, establishing and managing distribution channels, and structuring promotional programs.


Legal and Ethical Environment of Business (3 hrs)

Historical, economic, political, and ethical bases of contracts and sales, including the Uniform Commercial Code, and the impact of regulatory agencies on business enterprise.
